LPG PROJECT - Shared Quality

Nature and Main Purpose

Association was an institution founded in 1994 as an initiative of LPG distribution companies. The main objective of this institution is promoting continuous quality improvement in the sector.

Strategy

To bring together and promote interaction between the sectors that make up the “LPG Industry”.

Obtain the support and technical cooperation of entities linked to the standardization, regulation, guidance and supervision of the process.

Targets

Companies and professionals within the “LPG Industry”, which are responsible for the production, storage, transportation and distribution of LPG, including manufacturers and distributors of products and technical services intended for these activities, as well as entities responsible for standardization, regulation and inspection.

Association Characteristics

Interaction between companies whose products or services are interconnected with the LPG use chain;

Participation Modalities

Maintainers – Associated companies that are part of the “LPG Industry”.

Invited Collaborators – Professionals and entities which can contribute to the success of the Association’s activities, because of their responsibilities or technical training.

Association Activities

Working Groups – Made up of representative’s member of companies and invited employees to deal with technical topics, aiming to identify problems and opportunities, pointing out possible solutions and recommending actions of a practical nature.

GLP Innovation and Technology Award  – Created in 2010, with the following objectives:

  • To encourage LPG companies and professionals in the area to systematically record their studies, experiences and developments, in the form of technical papers:
  • Promote the dissemination of the advances obtained and
  • Recognize the contribution of the authors of the awarded technical papers

LPG Technical Meeting and Exhibition Annual event, held in December, with the following objectives:

  • Present, with guest speakers, technical topics of interest to the “LPG Industry”.
  • Reward the winners of the GLP Innovation and Technology Award;
  • Honor prominent personalities of the “LPG Industry”;
  • Enable interaction between users and suppliers of products and services through technical display and explanations.

Technical Standards

Since 1998, the LPG Project has been responsible for the management of the Brazilian Committee on Fuel Gases of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards, managing the entire technical standardization process in this area.

Technical Seminars

The Brazilian Committee on Fuel Gases holds Technical Seminars in the main cities of the country, with the objective of disseminating and discussing normative texts of wide practical application, aimed at efficiency and safety in the use and handling of fuel gases.
